PLEXOS international with our partner Envisioneering will host presentations of their technologies and capabilities to SPAWAR on March 3, 2005. The presentation will focus on the Genesis technology and their its in Space and Network Centric Warfare.
Genesis is a software architecture that integrates
numerous communication devices and information sources into a coherent, open
standards-based infrastructure. Specifically, all radios, telephones, cell phones,
PDAs, computers, servers, data storage devices, databases, security devices,
surveillance cameras, detectors (chemical, radiation, etc.), sensors (motion,
heat, etc.), and numerous other components can be interconnected through a
redundant, secure, real-time, packet switched network for C4I (Command & Control, Communications, Computers
and Intelligence) . The Genesis software automates all of the complex management,
policy, security, distribution, translation, and visualization processes. Just
like an operating system manages a computer, Genesis manages all of the
resources required to deliver a comprehensive, secure, interoperable data and
communications solution.
The various branches of the military have
independently made significant financial and labor investments in different
computing platforms, operating systems, software applications (database, GIS,
etc.), phone systems, radio systems, surveillance systems, and innumerable
other communication and information technology products. Genesis preserves this
past investment, makes this diverse array of proprietary and dissimilar
products interoperable, and establishes a redundant secure communication and
information-sharing infrastructure that facilitates real-time command and
control – particularly during a crisis.
